Submission time!

So I’m going to start doing this thing every week. I’m going to give you guys a topic (guard related) and you guys can submit pictures, stories, and videos of that topic, and I will post them and promote you in the submission. :D

This week: SHOW MAKEUP! I wanna see what everyone’s makeup looks like this season! :D I’ll post mine in a bit.

I felt as if this needed to be done. My group needs to step it up.

I am so0o0o0o sorry that I haven’t gotten to any requests, marching season is killing me.

But I seriously need to work my ass off if I want to make rifle.

I am planning on trying out for Phantom Regiment in the future too, so I am doing my best not to slack off at all.

No requests = inactivity.

=[

I would lo0o0o0ove some requests, guise.

Filling up my guard binder! Ugh being organized is so stressful!

Tips on making colorguard captain.

Already getting requests from people who are hoping to make guard captain, so here’s a few tips, and stuff I did to help myself get captain. =]

  • Practice, Practice, PRACTICE. I seriously cannot stress this enough. Its a very good idea to make sure that all of your basics are perfect. Practice something until there is no possible way to get it wrong.
  • Set yourself apart from the crowd. Try learning things on a more advanced level than what you are used to. If you see a cool trick on YouTube that you really like, go outside and try it!
  • Have a positive attitude, always. Thats one of the main things that band directors/instructors look for in candidates.
  • Be in good standing with the guard/band. If you aren’t, this will REALLY lower your chances of getting captain.
  • Be organized, and plan ahead. If you are auditioning for captain, you will probably have to go through an interview process. colorguardeducator.com has a section on student leadership and interview questions. Prepare your answers in advance. But be aware, they might through a surprise question in there, because they definitely did in my interview!
  • Captain auditions can lead to drama in the group. In fact, it usually always does. Be prepared for people to become competitive, and some may even suck up to the person choosing leaders, and talk bad about the other candidates. Be aware, these people are usually the ones that DON’T get the spot. Don’t worry about anyone else but yourself, and believe that you will pull through. :)

Sorry guys, its not “Little Guard Things” anymore. No one really submitted any ideas, plus I couldn’t keep up with just one specific topic.

From now on, this blog is dedicated to anything guard related.

helloiamsarah:

at my school, it seems like the drumline hates us… but in all honesty, we’ve been their biggest supporters.

I’m R E A L L Y sorry I haven’t been on here, guys. I’ve been at band camp these past 2 weeks, all day, every day. :/

I’m gonna try to start making more ‘Little Guard Things’ I promise!
